Introduction to the Qualification
The TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness (RQF) is regulated by Ofqual.
Qualification Purpose
The purpose of the qualification is to develop learners’ understanding of a range of mental health
issues including stress, anxiety, depression, phobias, dementia and other conditions which may
significantly affect the mental health of a person and how to respond to them. It is aimed at learners
who are involved in the delivery of mental health services but do not hold a related professional
qualification.
This qualification is designed to develop knowledge and skills in this subject area.
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of level one in
literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
The qualification is suitable for learners of 19 years of age and above.
Progression
Successful learners can progress to other qualifications such as:
- Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Working in Mental Health (QCF)
- Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (QCF)
- Level 2 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support (RQF)
- Level 3 Award in Awareness of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (RQF)
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (QCF)
- Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health Care (QCF)
- Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support (RQF)
